Assistants

Assistants are the main components in the Springtide system. An assistant is connected to one or more sources, which are the basis of their knowledge. They always try to find answers to questions in these sources. After you have assigned a source to an assistant, it needs to be indexed. This will be done automatically, and might take a couple of minutes, depending on how much data needs to be indexed. The interfaces will show the 'INDEXING' status during this process.

An assistant is put in the "All users" group by default, but you can create your own groups with users, to limit access to an assistant. You can create groups in the settings page, the link is in the bottom left corner.

Sharing

You can share an assistant to other people, like the employees of a company. You can enable sharing in the assistant edit page. When enabled, we provide you with various ways to interact with the assistant: a public page and a script which will spawn a chat popup on the page it is loaded. You can customize the public page of an assistant, with settings like the intro text, the assistant icon or add some suggested questions people can ask the assistant. You can also add an IP whitelist to limit access to an assistant.
